I am a Colorado-based artist and have lived on a farm for over 40 years. I appreciate the self-sufficiency this lifestyle offers. The area's natural beauty, its historic farm buildings and abandoned vehicles create perfect subjects for my artworks.

After decades of structured classes, independent study and experimentation while creating art as a hobby, I became a full-time artist in 2021. 

I love working in oil because of its luminosity, richness and depth of color. Linen is my canvas of choice because it provides some innate texture. I draw on the canvas and use both knives and brushes to create texture or to keep a smooth surface, depending on the subject.  I often paint from 3 to 5 layers to create the depth and color I want.  

Career Highlights:

I am basically a self-taught artist with some college background in drawing, painting, art history, and pottery. I study techniques in Artist magazine articles, artist biographies, first-hand observations at art galleries and experimentation. I am affiliated with Oil Painters of America, Alla Prima Painters, Xanadu Gallery Catalogue and the National Association of Women Artists (NAWA). 

In April 2022, my art was featured on Colorful Colorado Creatives FB page and I was selected as Artist of the Day by NAWA for June 2022.
